Tiny Loving Canines was born out of two dog rescue volunteers wanting to rehabilitate dogs and find them good furever home. A lifelong advocate for animals, Linda Nelson had an excellent back- ground in dog rehabilitation. TLC is a small dog rescue centered in Ventura and LA Counties, and we are strictly foster-based--we can only have as many dogs up for adoptions as our volunteers have foster space for. We have pulled mom and pups from the shelters, dogs with broken legs, and senior dogs with little chances. We also pull young neglected dogs who just need a second (or third/fourth..) chance at life.
Abby is a young pup who was dropped at the shelter completely bald on her head with secondary infections...she lost all the hair on her head due to nerves. Also, she had sores on her rump and SEVERE trust issues. Abby was just 9 wks old when TLC decided to pull her, and at 5 months old she took too big of a step down some doggie steps and broke her right front leg.
She went in for leg-pinning surgery but ended up losing the leg in surgery. She is now being re- habilitated as a lovely 3-legged pup who has a second chance to live!
I guess I am easy to talk to, and I usually say what's on my mind. I am sarcastic but a total sweetie at heart (I swear), shy at first but annoyingly outgoing once you get to know me. I am OCD and organized at work but my car and room are total messes and that's just the way I like it. I love my Chihuahua. He is 3.5 yrs old and was abused the first 11 mos of his life. He's my heart and soul. I am blogging about the leg-pinning surgery of my foster, who will need to learn to walk again. I want to be a teacher. I love rescue!
